Understand the Business Side of Healthcare

Nova Southeastern University offers students the opportunity to attain their Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.).

Students can earn their M.B..A degree concurrent with the D.P.T. degree over 3 years by taking one or two M.B.A. courses per semester. Students will get credit in the M.B.A. program for some courses taken in the D.P.T. program.

The D.P.T./M.B.A. concurrent degree-path prepares students with a multidimensional skillset that opens a wide variety of doors in the workplace. D.P.T. graduates will be prepared for healthcare leadership positions, setting themselves apart from other graduates.

Benefits of Concurrent Degress

Physical therapists often progress quickly into positions that include the need for supervisory and management skills and require knowledge of financial management, organizational behavior, informational systems, business policy and strategic planning. Many physical therapists also open private practices or become independent contractors or consultants and the knowledge and competence of the business side of practice is needed. The M.B.A. degree will prepare students to better understand the business side of healthcare and be impactful administrators.
