A Physical Therapy Program That Propels You to the Front of the Class

Physical therapists are movement experts and treat individuals from birth to end of life, focusing on improving an individual’s quality of life through movement, exercise, hands-on care and patient education?  Are you seeking a Doctor of Physical Therapy Program that offers you the strongest combination of curriculum, clinicals, faculty and career advantages? If so, then Nova Southeastern University's D.P.T. program is for you.

We offer a curriculum for students that provides the following opportunities:

  • Learning from faculty with broad educational and clinical experiences who are also Board Certified Clinical specialists in areas such as Orthopedics, Neurology, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, and Wound care and Lymphedema. Faculty present their research nationally and internationally in areas of expertise
  • Applying knowledge and skills learned in the classroom at clinic sites, early in the program, and throughout the duration of the curriculum
  • Studying an evidence-based curriculum that combines simulation, interprofessional education and service-learning
  • Participating in research projects alongside PT faculty researchers
  • Having access to participate in international mission trips

Students in the NSU PT Programs have the opportunity for the following:

  • Participate in research projects with faculty that result in professional presentations at National Conferences and published journal articles.
  • Obtain other certifications while in the program such as Certification in Lymphedema and Wound Care, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and McKenzie Certification
  • Leadership and collaboration opportunities within the program and through State and National PT organizations.
  • Go on to participate in PT Residency programs throughout the US, after graduation.

Our three-and-a-third-year Tampa Bay hybrid D.P.T. program blends face-to-face and online teaching, adding extra scheduling flexibility for students balancing full-time jobs and/or family needs. Three times a semester, students travel to the Tampa Bay Regional Campus for a five-day, in-person institute.
