The Master of Science in Sports Science (MSSS) is an online program that focuses on human performance. Research conducted by our faculty includes the areas of body composition, exercise performance, sports neuroscience, sports biomechanics, sports supplements, and elite athletics. Graduates are encouraged to pursue careers in research, strength and conditioning, sports science, fitness, and continued graduate education. The program offers the option to conduct research under faculty mentorship or participate in a specialized internship in the field of sports science. Students will explore core courses at the master's level and apply practical skills in various virtual and practical settings.

Admission Requirements for the Sports Science Master's Degree



All applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Selection for a professional interview does not guarantee admission to the program.  Admission decisions will be made at the conclusion of the interview process. Transfer of Credit Applicants may request for transfer of up to six (6) credit hours from a regionally accredited graduate program toward their M.S. in Sports Science degree.

National Strength and Conditioning Association Education Recognition Program

NSU’s M.S. in Sports Science program is endorsed by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in the areas of strength and conditioning and research. The NSCA’s Education Recognition Program (ERP) recognizes regionally accredited academic institutions for their educational programs that have met, and continue to meet, educational guidelines recommended by the NSCA. ERP recognitions are good for three years and schools are eligible for renewal following this three-year period.
