SLP Department Elective Course Options
The speech-language pathology minor provides students with a basic understanding of communication sciences and disorders. All courses offered in the minor are offered online or in person at the Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus.
Students who have already earned a bachelor's degree may enroll in prerequisite courses as non-degree-seeking students.

In order to apply to the MS-SLP Program at NSU the following courses are also required by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA):
ASHA Knowledge Outcomes: Equivalent will be accepted as part of the bachelor's degree coursework if the applicant earned a grade equivalency of 2.0 or higher in each course. There is no expiration date on the ASHA Knowledge Outcome courses. Courses cannot be part of a CSD curriculum course. Courses must be completed at the college level and earned from accredited colleges or universities. Courses MUST be completed before matriculating to the graduate program. In addition, 25 directed observation hours are required before beginning a graduate program of study in Speech-Language Pathology.
