Kasi Lou Van Heel, Dr.P.H., M.P.H. is a public health professional with a background in organizational psychology and marketing, experience in small business ownership, and a track record of leading community-focused initiatives, from food insecurity and gun violence prevention to infectious disease control in refugee populations. She has worked across government, non-profit, and academic sectors, conducting environmental health inspections, supporting economic development in underserved communities, and consulting on programs ranging from maternal resource access to skill-building for incarcerated youth. Her research focuses on social determinants of health information access, particularly through digital media, with the goal of promoting equitable access to credible health information and resources.

Kasi Lou Van Heel holds a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Health Education and Promotion from Loma Linda University, a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) from Morehouse School of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Spelman College. She is a member of the NSU College of Osteopathic Medicine Public Health Department.
