Dr. Rone-Adams teaches in the PhD and Professional DPT Program. Her areas of teaching include curriculum review, business management, health care administration and health policy.
Dr. Rone-Adams primary research interests focus on simulation, curriculum development and mapping, student outcomes and professionalism. . She has many peer-reviewed presentations at national and international conferences and published articles in refereed journals and book chapters. Book chapters include topics related to professionalism and international clinical education. Dr. Rone-Adams is an editor for the Internet Journal of Allied Health Sciences and Practice.
Dr. Rone-Adams clinical work includes a variety of settings with her main focus working with older adults in inpatient rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities. She has worked in various roles in the clinical setting including staff PT, Clinical Education Coordinator, Director of Rehabilitation, and Area Administrator.
Dr. Rone-Adams has been is an APTA member since 1983 and is a current member of the Geriatric and Education sections. She currently serves on the ACAPT Task Force to Develop Best Practices in Admissions/Retention at Doctor of Physical Therapy Programs and the Reactor Panel providing feedback on the development of Domains of Competence and Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs). She is a Fellow in the National Academies of Practice.
