Kristi Messer relocated to Florida from Washington, D.C., where she spent several years with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, successfully launching community health centers nationwide. A passionate public health professional, she currently serves as assistant dean of undergraduate programs and director of the Bachelor of Science in Public Health program at the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine (KPCOM) at Nova Southeastern University.

For more than 30 years, Messer has dedicated her career to advancing the health and well-being of underserved and vulnerable populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, people with disabilities, communities affected by disasters, and those impacted by mental illness. She has presented her research and academic work at more than 40 international, national, state, and local conferences.

Messer’s work extends beyond traditional healthcare settings, addressing the unique needs of diverse groups, and improving the lives of children, families, and adults. Her enduring commitment to mental health, coupled with her extensive experience and evidence-based approach, highlights her role as a compassionate leader, educator, and advocate for the public health and well-being of students, individuals, and communities.

In addition to her public health leadership, Messer is a licensed clinical social worker and provides direct support to individuals and families with a focus on chronic disease management and lifestyle modification.
