Dr. Dolutan's scholarly work centers on advancing evidence-based practice in manual therapy, with expertise in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT). His peer-reviewed publications in the Journal of Manual and Manipulative Therapy investigate pain pattern classification systems and directional preference testing as diagnostic and prognostic tools for spinal conditions, contributing to the growing body of evidence supporting systematic mechanical assessment approaches in musculoskeletal care. Additionally, Dr. Dolutan has contributed to expanding MDT applications beyond traditional spinal conditions, participating in research validating the McKenzie system's effectiveness for shoulder pain management, demonstrating the broader applicability of MDT principles.

Dr. Dolutan maintains active involvement in professional education through presentations at international conferences. His contributions span MDT Diplomate-Faculty Symposiums, where he has presented clinical case studies and innovative technique demonstrations including alternative force applications for cervical and lumbar spine treatment and complex case management involving multi-regional considerations, as well as featured presentations at the 2nd Asian Confederation of Orthopedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (ACOMPT) 2025 Congress, where he facilitated a workshop on applying MDT principles and techniques to both cervical and spine conditions, focusing on translating research findings into practical clinical applications for practicing clinicians.

Dr. Dolutan is committed to advancing the evidence base for physical therapy evaluation, assessment, and manual therapy interventions and fostering the next generation of evidence-based practitioners through education and mentorship.

Dr. Dolutan's clinical expertise encompasses comprehensive outpatient orthopedic practice with supplementary experience in acute care and spinal cord injury rehabilitation settings. In his capacity as clinic practice director and owner, he has demonstrated versatility across diverse healthcare delivery models, including integrated care collaborations with primary care physicians in employer owned health centers and interdisciplinary partnerships with pain management specialists in personal injury rehabilitation settings. His practice portfolio extends to managed care environments, where he has provided triage assessment and therapeutic interventions within HMO health systems.
