Dr. Dias teaches Physiology, Integumentary Physical Therapy, and Gerontology.
Dr. Dias’ primary research interests are assessing student metacognition in foundational courses in traditional and accelerated health care programs. She has presented her findings at professional conferences. Additional research interests include investigating the impact of integrating service-learning activities on student self-efficacy in a gerontology course.
Dr. Dias’ services to the community include students’ supervision during service-learning activities such as students performing fall prevention screening and balance assessments at senior centers.
Dr. Dias’ primary areas of specialty are orthopedics and geriatrics. She has extensive experience in delivering patient care in outpatient and home settings, evaluating and treating post-surgical and orthopedic diagnoses.
Dr. Dias is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and belongs to special interest groups of the APTA including Geriatrics and Education. She serves on the student progress committee in the DPT program.
