Residency training occurs in a variety of psychiatric settings to give a broad and diverse educational experience.
The Orlando VA Medical Center is located in Lake Nona, Florida and serves nearly 110,000 veterans in East Central Florida on a 65-acre campus. It is part of a 650-acre health and life sciences park known as the Lake Nona Medical City, offers 134 inpatient beds, and provides acute care, complex specialty care, advanced diagnostic services, a large multispecialty outpatient clinic, and administrative and support services.

The Lake Correctional Institute is a Level V state prison for men located in Clermont, Florida with a current capacity of approximately 1,100 adult offenders who are housed in a mix of security levels including community, minimum, medium, closed, and maximum. Prisoners may attend substance abuse programs, anger management courses, and various life skills classes.

Central Florida Behavioral Hospital (CFBH) serves as an emergency receiving facility and offers both inpatient and outpatient programs to treat and respond to behavioral health conditions that require immediate care and treatment. The treatment philosophy is based upon a team approach with the goal of treating the whole patient with care, support, dignity, and respect. CFBH’s mission is to assist patients with gaining the skills necessary to improve upon their quality of life and return to their daily lives with increased functioning levels.

A full range of inpatient and outpatient services include initial evaluations, psychotherapy, medication management, and pediatric and geriatric psychiatric services.
