The Division of Research and Economic Development (DoR) encourages innovation among NSU's faculty. The DoR's mission is to help develop ideas, discoveries, and technologies, leading to impactful research outcomes. NSU's Center for Collaborative Research (CCR) is one of the largest and most advanced research facilities in Florida. Located adjacent to the university’s Health Professions Division complex on NSU’s Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus, the 215,000-sq.-ft., six-story CCR is equipped with wet and dry labs; state-of-the-art research equipment, including access to a high-performance computing environment; and other resources, such as Florida LambdaRail, a high-speed broadband service delivery network with connectivity throughout the nation.

The CCR also houses five Core laboratories (Flow Cytometry, Genomics, Imaging, Cell Therapies, and Vivarium), bioinformatics support, and a General Clinical Research Center. The Core Facilities are operated by NSU’s Division of Research and Economic Development (DoR). In addition to the core facilities within the CCR, the CCR houses the EM Papper Laboratory of Clinical Immunology.

The Office of Clinical Research is dedicated to supporting NSU faculty involved in clinical trials. With a team of certified clinical research professionals, OCR offers administrative assistance and clinical coordination, providing a comprehensive suite of support services to navigate the intricate landscape of health care.

Operating under Translational Research and Economic Development, the Office of Sponsored Programs aims to support NSU's research mission by providing comprehensive services to faculty and staff. Our focus includes identifying, securing, managing, and ensuring compliance with funding for NSU's research, community service, and training initiatives.

At OTT, we oversee this journey from the initial disclosure of an invention to the final licensing stage, providing invaluable support to NSU faculty along the way. Our services include aiding with patent applications, trademark, and copyright registrations.

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Nova Southeastern University is a unit under the direction of the Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and leads the university's human subject protection program. The IRB reviews research submissions from the NSU research community to ensure they adhere to basic ethical principles underlying the acceptable conduct of research involving human subjects.

The Martin and Gail Press Health Professions Division Library includes more than 17,000 print volumes, 700+ electronic books, and 8,000+ active medical/health journal subscriptions in both print and digital formats. Many of the available electronic texts are required textbooks in various courses. The library has ample study space and is home to the Idea Labs, complete with virtual reality technology, a 3-D printer, and more. The library also provides a dedicated librarian who specializes in supporting research inquiries for students and faculty members.

The Grant Writing Laboratory at NSU provides comprehensive research and proposal development assistance to faculty and professional staff to enhance success in grant-seeking endeavors. Our services are closely coordinated with those of the Office of Sponsored Programs, offering faculty additional support in their grant-seeking efforts.

Beth Gilbert serves as the grant and medical writer for NSU College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM), providing invaluable support to faculty in every stage of grant proposal development, from initial idea conception to final submission.

Beth excels in tailoring grant proposals to effectively address various reviewing audiences, including medical experts, general physicians, researchers, and advocates. She offers insightful feedback on the feasibility of grant submission approval, drawing from her proven track record of improving grant funding success rates.

Cureus is an open access, online medical journal, which provides clinicians, students, faculty, and researchers a novel and effective platform to publish their clinical and research data. Cureus provides KPCOM students and faculty a no-fee and quick turnaround approach to publication with an average of 39 days to publication (26 days median). With an impact factor of 1.1, the journal receives approximately 1.5 million article reads monthly.

EndNote® is available as a downloadable option for your computer and an online option that you may access via any Internet connected computer. EndNote® provides hundreds of formatting styles, and provides the industry standards for publishing and managing bibliographies and reference lists. 

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) has licensed Clarivate's EndNote products listed below for authorized use by all NSU faculty, staff, and students who have permission to download, install, and use this software on personal computers and laptops.
