The Student Wellness Program is an initiative to assist students with their well-being- physical, emotional/spiritual, interpersonal, academic/professional, and environmental/community.
The Student Wellness program at NSU-KPCOM includes a student wellness course that takes place in the M1 year. This course includes mindfulness, physical wellness, personal wellness, relational wellness, and nutritional wellness. This course also provides students with contact information for various resources that are available to help achieve and maintain wellness.
The goal of this course is to provide students with various ways to stay healthy and maintain wellness throughout their years in medical school and beyond.
The course consists of various interactive sessions, which gives them the opportunity to interact with other students, peer mentors, and faculty in their same society. In addition to the course, several non-mandatory events promote fellowship and collegiality throughout the academic years.
