Peds PALS is a volunteer program dedicated to children with disabilities and chronic or terminal illnesses. Currently, students of Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine volunteer at Chris Evert Children's Hospital (Broward General Medical Center) providing art projects and games to the children on the oncology floor. Students also participate in the Thanksgiving Basket Brigade and Toy Village at the Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Center.
The goal of this program is to bring joy to children that are medically-disadvantaged and engaging them in fun-filled activities. We are also looking to provide care-taking opportunities that allow parents with disabled children to enjoy a night out while their children are in care of our medical student volunteers.
