Darren Cohen, D.O. is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Board certified in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Cohen provides lifesaving care as an attending physician at Memorial Regional Hospital and NSU’s Student Medical Clinic. With years of experience, Dr. Cohen is American Heart Association instructor certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Airway Management. When not teaching in NSU’s EMS department, Dr. Cohen can be found working closely with osteopathic medical students utilizing high fidelity manikins to develop student's examination, medical decision making and procedural skills. |

James Gargiulo is a seasoned lieutenant, fire-fighter paramedic with over 15 years’ experience providing lifesaving care with Boynton Beach Fire Rescue. American Heart Association instructor certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Airway Management, Gargiulo has more than a decade of experience training physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on how to effectively provide emergency care. |
Jonatan Salazar, B.S. Manager |
Jonatan Salazar, B.S. handles the day-to-day operations of the Division of EMS Education & Training including scheduling both in-person and blended American Heart Association courses for healthcare providers, the general public, and NSU students, faculty, and staff. Salazar is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University’s Huizenga College of Business & Entrepreneurship and has been employed with NSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine for over 3 years. Salazar is an American Heart Association instructor certified in BLS. |
