Nova Southeastern University's Heartsaver CPR AED course teaches basic CPR, AED, and choking relief skills for non-healthcare providers. Heartsaver CPR AED is a video-based, instructor led course performed in a classroom setting. Using the American Heart Association (AHA)'s research proven Practice-While-Watching technique, participants demonstrate skills such as hands-on CPR along with AHA video scenarios. All participants are monitored by NSU instructors and given feedback during skill sessions.
Upon successful completion of the Heartsaver CPR AED course, participants will be issued an AHA CPR AED course completion card valid for 2 years from the course completion date.
Anyone is eligible for our Heartsaver CPR AED course; no medical training is required. This course is designed for participants who need a CPR AED course completion card to meet their career, education, or other regulatory requirements. Previous participants have included high school students, hospitality workers, personal trainers, daycare workers, and babysitters.
If you are a healthcare provider in need or CPR training please see our Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers course.
Don’t think you need the course? More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside the hospital each year with less than half of them receiving the immediate help they need before professional help arrives.
