At EMS Education and Training, we strive to always excel at providing high quality trainings regarding all aspects of emergency situations. From in-hospital training simulations, to everyday life emergency preparedness, we provide the highest quality of instructors and most cutting edge technology and research to help bring these courses to life.
We are now providing a new section to our Heartsaver CPR/AED course named Stop the Bleed. This extension of the Heartsaver course provides Stop the Bleed training to primarily, Public Safety officers, Facilities and physical plant workers and any other participants who may find themselves or others in need of knowledge in extensive first aid.
Why have we begun incorporating Stop the Bleed training?
Massive bleeding from any cause, but particularly from an active shooter or explosive event where a response is delayed can result in death. Similar to how the general public learns and performs CPR, the public must learn proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use their hands, dressings, and tourniquets. Victims can quickly die from uncontrolled bleeding, within five to 10 minutes.
All of our Manikins have been updated with QCPR Feedback devices. QCPR devices give real time feedback on compression depth/ rate and effective breaths during a standard CPR Cycle. Studies have shown that real time feedback increases effectiveness of the delivery of life-saving skills. You can learn more from our partner's website: Laerdal QCPR Update
QCPR Feedback Devices communicate with the QCPR Learner App via Bluetooth. The app is located in Android and Apple stores and is compatible with most tablets and cell phones.
