Education:
Dr. Jamie West enjoys teaching topics related to diversity, ethics, trauma-informed care, and substance abuse treatment. Her research focus is on family resilience and substance abuse prevention for at-risk youth. She has extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds and with various presenting problems. She has gained much of her interest in working with and researching diverse populations from her experience living abroad in Romania, South Korea, Mexico, and Mongolia.
Dr. West received clinical training in Emotionally-Focused Therapy and The Gottman Method. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified ARISE® Interventionist. She is an alumna of the SAMHSA/AAMFT Minority Fellowship Program and now serves as a mentor for the program.
