The Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Basic Life Support (BLS) course is intended for health care professionals and pre-hospital providers. You’ll learn how to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide high-quality CPR to victims of all ages, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely manner.
Gain experience with adult and infant practice manikins. Practice AEDs, bag-valve masks, and barrier devices. You’ll be monitored by NSU instructors, who will provide feedback throughout the course.
Upon successful completion of the BLS course, you'll be issued an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS provider card, valid for 2 years from the course completion date.
